The hamlet of the meeting
It was in 2017 that Frédéric Auriol, originally from the Paris region, came to settle in the Bordeaux area in search of meaning and serenity.
Simon Deleporte, a native of Lille, arrived in the region in 2006. He finished his studies there, started a family, and became rooted in this territory, a synonym for space and freedom.
Nothing was predestined for their paths to cross one day. Nothing, except a shared passion for taste, nature, and authenticity.
So it is here, in Camiran, that these two wine lovers meet and their new adventure begins.
Two paths, one passion
Frédéric's passion for wine comes from his grandfather, the son of a winegrower born in Campagne-sur-Aude, near Limoux. It was at the age of 45, amidst the greyness of the towers of La Défense, that he became aware of the need to reconnect with the land and his origins. He then began a BTS training in Viticulture–oenology and settled in Bordeaux with one goal: to become a winegrower. Thus was born a first vintage, ʻClos Auriol 2018ʼ which Simon's technical skill made exceptional. Between two professional lives and a meeting, Closerie des Terres was born.
At the age of ten, Simon left the land of beer for the land of wine: Burgundy. It was during a visit with his father to the vaulted cellars where the Chablis barrels peacefully mature that his desire to become a winemaker was born.
Holding a BTS in Viticulture-Oenology and a degree in Vine Sciences, completed in Burgundy, their passion continued in Gironde with a Master's in Oenology and a postgraduate degree in Winery Management.
After spending 12 years in the technical management of Bordeaux wine estates, the opportunity to make his own wine according to his desires has finally presented itself: Closerie des Terres.
